Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Amherst tattoo shops

Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Amherst.

“I visited this shop for a piercing in a very sensitive and discreet area, and I could not be more impressed with the level of professionalism and care I received. The piercer was confident, respectful, and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable about human anatomy—which made me feel comfortable and safe throughout the entire process. Robert, the owner, clearly runs a fantastic shop with high standards, and it shows in every detail. As someone originally from Michigan, I can honestly say I would make the drive to Ohio again just to get work done here. The state of Ohio is lucky to have a place like this. Highly recommend!”
