“I contacted Wave to have a tattoo done (my first) in memory of my late husband. It was important to me that it represented who he was, and that it included handwriting from letters he had written to me over the years. I went in with a very rough idea in mind, and he took time to get to know me and details about my husband to create a beautiful piece of art. My husband was an incredible guitarist, a scientist, a nature lover, friend, father, worker, etc. He was the best at everything he did. The cerulean warbler was a last second addition to the original idea, to incorporate my love of birdwatching which my husband always participated in to the fullest with me. One day he called while on a run and told me he saw a cerulean warbler - I had never seen one in person. It would be a "lifer" for me, in bird terms..and that's what Nick was for me too, my once in a lifetime, truest love. I am proud to have this for all to see and hope that when someone asks about it, I can have the opportunity to share his memory with others. Thank you!! “From the jump, I received nothing but support from aisle 9. They have been very understanding about the fact that I was in the middle of a move from North Dakota to Dayton. I think I had researched over 10 different shops in the Ohio area before landing on this one. Inside is very clean and welcoming. Normally shops feel dark and heavy but this one had the opposite effect. When I got paired with Luen. I wasn’t sure about it at first but after meeting him he was extremely confident, reassuring, and skilled. I knew after our consultation that he was going to absolutely knock it out of the park and I was absolutely beyond excited. Not only did he do my arm but he finished my leg piece as well. I was super grateful because I know it can be kind of a hit or miss when another artist does half of it, so when he offered to finish it I had no other answer but yes and he knocked that one out of the park too. The time after the consultation and tattoo day was built on great communication. The actual tattoo day was super calm, we took many breaks and he paid attention and is very detail oriented. He was very understanding and empathetic about how I felt and there was always great conversation. Just over all made sure I was taken care of. Communication went on even weeks after to make sure I was healing well. I had zero hesitation with any question I had since I was on holiday. Did what I could to take care of myself and my new tattoos but I still had questions about healing and was more than comfortable with shooting him a text and asking. Talks of touch ups are in the works. 😊 10/10 recommend. Seriously, do it. You won’t regret it.”

“this was my first time coming into this shop; i found it randomly on google and decided i’d give it a shot. i was overwhelmed with how welcoming and friendly everyone was. my tattoo artist was dessa and she managed to squeeze me in as a walk-in. she was very thorough and detail-oriented throughout the entire process. she went above and beyond to make sure everything was lined up correctly, and spent a long time erasing and resketching the stencil to make sure it was perfect. she was communicative and friendly the entire time, and tattooed quick and efficiently—it was about as painless as a tattoo can come. dessa is extremely talented, and deserves all the praise in the world. she went out of her way to make sure i was cared for and was incredibly compassionate and giving. this was my favorite tattoo experience so far, and i definitely recommend going here—specifically seeking out dessa. props to the entire store and employee list, though—i’ll certainly be coming back! :)”
