LocalTattoos is an independent directory publisher. Our goal is to make public business information easier to compare while being clear about where the data comes from, what our rankings mean, and what we have not independently confirmed.
Listing sources
Core listing fields may come from Google Places, the business's public website, and corrections submitted by business representatives or readers. These fields can include a business name, category, address, coordinates, phone number, website, posted hours, aggregate Google rating, Google review count, and public photos.
Google ratings and review counts are snapshots and can change after our data was collected. Google and Google Maps are trademarks of Google LLC. LocalTattoos is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google or by the businesses in the directory.
What a listing means
Inclusion means our data identified the business as a tattoo or piercing shop in the location shown. It does not mean LocalTattoos has visited, licensed, certified, or endorsed the shop or every artist working there.
Service and style tags summarize available public evidence, such as a shop website or recurring themes in public reviews. Treat them as discovery aids, then confirm the artist, portfolio, service, availability, price, and policies with the shop.
How rankings work
Shops do not pay for ranking positions. Eligible "best" lists require at least 25 Google reviews. We order eligible shops with a Bayesian-adjusted score so a perfect rating backed by very few reviews does not automatically outrank a nearly perfect rating backed by hundreds.
In the current dataset, 320 is the median Google review count and 4.79 is the mean rating across rated listings. Ties go to the shop with more Google reviews, then alphabetical name. Category lists also require evidence for the named style or service. Scores order a dataset; they are not a professional inspection or a guarantee of quality, safety, or fit.
Automation and editorial content
We use software and automated language tools to organize source data, detect possible services or styles, and prepare listing summaries. Automation can make mistakes. We avoid presenting inferred qualities such as skill, hygiene, affordability, or professionalism as independently established facts.
Guides and list pages explain their selection criteria where relevant. Dates on pages indicate publication or the data snapshot used; they do not promise continuous, real-time monitoring.
Advertising and commercial influence
LocalTattoos may display clearly labeled third-party advertising. Advertisers do not receive higher directory positions and ads are not endorsements. If we later publish sponsored or affiliate content, it will carry a clear disclosure on that page.
Corrections and removals
Send the listing URL, the field that is wrong, the correct information, and a reliable supporting source to localtattoos@lateral.us. Business representatives should also explain their connection to the shop. We may request additional evidence before changing ownership-sensitive information.
We review reports of duplicates, closures, wrong contact details, rights concerns, and businesses that do not belong in the directory. For general limitations, see our disclaimer.
