Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Milwaukee tattoo shops

Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Milwaukee.

“Jesse @ MANIA TATTOO seems to be a tattoo artist known for his professionalism, very nice easy-going, and ability to bring clients' designs to life. According to my experience. Jesse worked hard on my tattoo, which I loves and couldn’t be anymore happier. I already have many compliments on my beautiful tattoo. His the best. I considers his work is worth every penny. If you're looking for more information about Jesse's work or MANIA TATTOO, you might want to check their website, social media, or reviews from other clients.”
Amanda Saenbouttarath on MANIA TATTOOS
“Sheri was amazing! My friend and I went in together. She was getting her 3rd lobe piercing, and I was getting an inner conch piercing. Sheri took her time with us to explain how she would be doing the piercing, what the jewelry options were, and gave us multiple options for locations (she walked us through things like symmetrical placings vs. placings that would look best for the type of jewelry we would wear most) to make sure we were getting it in the best placement possible. She was so quick yet so gentle when it came time to do the actual piercing. The jewelry looks incredible (love a flat back!) and wasn't an additional cost. She guided us through the cleaning process and showed us a cleanser without pushing the product. She also told us about other options for cleansers in case we didn't want to buy it there. All in all, we were in and out super quickly without feeling like we were rushed. Sheri made us feel comfortable and confident that we were getting great service. Take any review with a grain of salt, especially ones talking about the healing of their piercings. Piercings can be wild, and different people have different reactions depending on the piercing and how seriously they take the aftercare process. We were treated incredibly well, paid a great price, and were reassured we could return if we needed anything. All in all, Sheri is wonderful, and I will be back for more piercings!”
Stephanie Coen on Bay Street Tattoo Co.
“Josef is awesome. This was my second tattoo, with Josef, and I couldn't be happier. He takes his time to plan and stencil it out and makes sure the placement is correct so it looks good. Should also mention that the entire staff is polite, talkative, and a blast to chat with while getting the work done. Facilities were also clean. I'm already trying to decide on my next tattoo with Josef.”
