What Locals Say About Baltimore Tattoo Shops

I have had a great experience bringing my daughter here for piercing services. Most recently, we went in 2 weeks ago. Her piercer, Ms. Bree, is very professional and very direct. We appreciate that she speaks directly and honestly about risks involved with piercing services and that she is upfront about things that she will not perform for minors. I also had a really good interaction with tattooer that we talked to (I can't remember his name, he has long hair) and the young lady at the counter. The place is very clean and I feel that my money is well spent. I may be back to get some tattoo work done soon. I always read the reviews places that we go. Sometimes, the bad ones are just really bad for no reason. This generation is so quick to type things on a keyboard without thinking about how they might feel if it was their business. Grievances have their place, but the ones that are not actually about services received? I've never quite understood them.

I’ve been getting tattooed by Dominic Carter at RIPPD Canvas for nearly six years, and his work continues to blow me away every single time. Each piece he’s done for me has not only held up beautifully, but somehow surpasses the last his growth and consistency as an artist are incredible. Dominic has that rare combination of technical precision and artistic vision. Whether I come in with a detailed idea or just a loose concept, he always brings it to life in a way that feels elevated, intentional, and uniquely mine. His linework, shading, and overall composition are flawless — you can tell he puts real thought and care into every piece he does. Beyond the talent, he’s just a solid human being to work with. He makes the process smooth, collaborative, and comfortable, and he truly listens. There’s never any ego just passion, professionalism, and a genuine love for the craft. RIPPD Canvas is lucky to have him, and I feel lucky to have found someone I can trust so completely with my body art. Dominic isn’t just my go-to tattoo artist — he’s been a key part of my personal journey and expression through ink. If you’re looking for next-level work and an artist who delivers every single time, Dominic Carter is the one. Beauty is pain :)

My friends and I wanted to commemorate our trip to Baltimore with black eyed susan tattoos in our own respective styles. This shop is SO cool. A great vibe and environment. Super friendly staff. I was tattooed by Dwaine and he was really friendly and professional. Great place all around!
