Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Tempe tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Tempe.
“I had such a great experience at Sentient Tattoo Collective! My artist, Summer, was a consummate professional. She did a great job communicating with me both before and during the appointment. The art she gave me is unreal - it’s even beyond what I expected or hoped to receive. While I was there, Summer was also able to rework a couple of my older tattoos and make them look so much better… I didn’t think they could be fixed, but Summer worked her magic! The shop itself is clean and the vibe of the place is fun and inviting. I couldn’t be happier and I will definitely be returning for more tattoos in the future.”
“Sean was amazing! The shop was very clean and he was very accommodating! I was a walk in & he was able to do my tattoo with such ease and it came out amazing! I am from Cali but I will definitely be back”
“I 100% recommend this place if you’re looking to get a piercing. I got my first piercing here, a septum, and the piercer was extremely nice and understanding of the first time nerves. The process was quick and he explained every aspect of it. Around the end of the appointment I did feel lightheaded because of my nerves but the piercer was very kind and allowed me to stay as much time as I needed and gave me glucose tablet which prevented me from fainting lol”
