Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Charlottesville tattoo shops

Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Charlottesville.

“I had a great experience here! I was a walk in and they were able to accommodate me within just a few minutes for my tragus piercing. My piercer was Ariel and she was great, just talked to me a little bit beforehand and kept me calm because I was feeling a little bit nervous. Ariel did the piercing so quickly and easily and just kept talking through the whole thing so that I was at ease. I am so happy with my piercing, I think it looks so cute and they provided me with all the necessary aftercare information as well.”
