Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Matawan tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Matawan.
“I recently got a tattoo done by Bryan. Full color portraits of two dogs with some flowers on my shoulder. I told him what I wanted and it didn’t take us very long to agree on a design. He was honest with me when he thought a particular part of my original idea wouldn’t work well and came up with an alternative design that I immediately fell in love with! The tattoo is absolutely gorgeous! He didn’t push me to go bigger than I was comfortable with and even though the tattoo is on the smaller side, the details in it are incredible! He has a light touch and he is super friendly. I felt comfortable with him immediately. It was an awesome experience! Thank you so much Bryan!”
