Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Escondido tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Escondido.
“My wife called around town looking for a shop to get our baby's ear pierced. Birdie was responsive and informative. We showed up to our appointment and Birdie talked us through the process. She made us feel at ease and we felt we made the right decision going with Birdie. We are happy with the results and would go back to Birdie for any future piercings. Highly recommended!”
“I got my tattoo done by Henry, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! He was professional, patient, and really took the time to make sure the design was exactly what I wanted. His attention to detail is amazing, and you can tell he truly cares about his work. The studio was super clean and had a chill, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for an artist who’s talented and easy to work with, Henry is the one. I’ll definitely be going back. Thank you so much, Henry—I absolutely love my Hello Kitty!”
