Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Springfield tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Springfield.
“Something I’ve had in my heart and head for years finally came to life—and I couldn’t be more excited. Huge thanks to Jason (aka Robot) at Area 51 Tattoo in Springfield. The shop is amazing, and Jason was so patient, working with me through several concepts and ideas until it felt just right. I always knew I wanted to use birth flowers to represent my family, but I wasn’t sure how to arrange them. Jason helped me bring it all together beautifully. In the center is a rose for me (June), then Derek’s carnation (January), Jacob’s water lily (July), Daniel’s aster (September), Michael’s violet (February), and little baby Derek’s poppy (August). Each flower represents someone I love deeply, and now I get to carry them with me always. Surrounded by my greatest blessings—in full bloom. It’s my heart, in flowers—forever with me.”
“HUGE shoutout to Splat at Anchored Ink! I had a rough experience with them a few years ago, and to my surprise, they reached out to see how they could make it right. What really impressed me was that they didn't just apologize, they took action. Given my situation at the time (losing my dad), they offered me a free tattoo to earn back my trust. Their customer care and willingness to listen is rare in this industry. Thanks, Splat, for showing what it means to really care about your clients.”
