Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Monterey tattoo shops

Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Monterey.

“I was on a girls trip and wanted to get a spur of the moment tattoo. I walked in to Gold Coast and Kyle said it was no problem to make it happen! He was friendly, laid back and made it a great experience. I’m super happy with my little fine line wave tattoo! When I’m back in Monterey and need another tattoo I’ll definitely be back to see him!”
