Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Altoona tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Altoona.
“It’s been six months since I got my tattoo from James he quoted me $100 per hour he told me prior it’d take 3-4 hours ended up being little over 5 hours. Had trouble with getting the stencil size right and laid properly. Awesome work you can tell James takes pride in his work by taking his time and being dedicated to detail.”
“The master piercer had the best sense of humor yet so professional. Great sense of humor. He pierced my friend and I super fast without discomfort. He answered all out questions, and gave great advice. Highly recommend!!”
“>>>UPDATE - 3 yrs later my now 16yr old daughter was just at Ikonic Ink getting her 2nd ear lobe piercings done by Derek. He was absolutely wonderful and made for just as good of an experience as we had last time. I highly recommend Derek and Ikonic Ink in Altoona! We brought our 13 yr old daughter into Ikonic Ink for her 1st earlobe piercings today and we're sooooo glad that we chose this route vs the typical stud gun treatment at the mall. Our daughter had Rachel for her piercer and let me tell you, this young lady not only knows what she's doing, she's very professional, and of a calm nature which all served to soothe our newbie nerves. The piercing went perfect and my daughter is thrilled to now have pierced ears but even more so she had a great first time experience and couldn't be happier. Ikonic Ink is a super clean high end shop with a great staff, and superb piercer, that we highly recommend. Just say "NO to Stud Guns"! And Special Thanks to Rachel for her perfect work today!”
