Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

Field notes

What locals say about Ypsilanti tattoo shops

Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Ypsilanti.

“I got pierced by Tylor (hopefully I’m spelling that right!) and he made the whole experience very comforting, and assured me through my worries that it was gonna be an easy and quick process. This was my second navel piercing, so I was a bit nervous on how things were gonna turn out, but he was very knowledgeable, told me which ones fit my anatomy, and the piercing itself was quick and I’d give it a 6/10 pain scale (and I have a low pain tolerance). Even today when I went in for a jewelry change, it was such a nice and clean process that made me feel way better! (Shoutout to the other piercer as well! She was incredibly nice and she did my consult when I thought my piercing might be rejecting, thankfully it did not). Such a cool shop!”
