Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Flint tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Flint.
“I got my first tattoo here and it was the best experience anyone could ask for. Chill staff, clean place, great artists. The artist that did my tattoo was very professional and listened to my requests, then delivered exactly what I asked for. Will be going here for any future tattoos.”
“10/10 ⭐️! I’ve made 2 trips to Studio 42. The first was a nose piercing with Donny, the placement is perfect and it healed quickly. My second trip was to have my nose jewelry changed. Donny was tattooing, so I was greeted and helped by his new piercing apprentice, Serenity. She changed out my jewelry quickly and with zero pain. While I was there I had her pierce the other side of my nose, which she lined up perfectly and did with quickly with very little pain. The second is healing perfectly as well. My next visits will be more tattoos and piercings with the entire crew. The shop is sparkling clean, the entire crew is fantastic and the atmosphere is one of a kind and fun. I’ll never go anywhere else! 10/10 ⭐️”
“I had a small blackout tattoo that needed to be done and I was recommended this shop and, Charity Nolff, in particular. I was on-time and she was prepared for me. I received a good greeting and checked-in, waiting only briefly. They have a stunning mirror and a vintage couch. Plenty to look at while I seated comfortably. Charity was a professional, completing the work in a short time, but never hurrying, of course. She was able to keep a conversation flowing, which is a great trait and she also got a couple plugs in for herself by letting me know about her traditional work and some other options for myself specifically. A good salesperson will always try to up-sell and I'm cool with that. Just a good all-around experience and would highly recommend anyone.”
