Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Evanston tattoo shops

Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Evanston.

“Love this shop! We walked in without an appointment - definitely recommend having an appointment, but this was one of the few days that we were totally kid-less (lol) so we thought we'd try our luck - and luckily, David was available! He made sure we understood that tattoos on hands come with extra precautions and made sure the sizing and placement were exactly what we wanted. We had him replicate these 3 runes to symbolize the next chapter in our relationship. Very clean and kind. He took time going over aftercare with us. Highly recommend David and his tattoo shop - we'll be coming back!”
