By state
Every state with black & grey tattoo shops
Sorted alphabetically — like an index in the back of a book. States with fewer than 3 qualifying shops have no ranking page yet; they link to the style's listings for that state (marked “style page”) or to the state directory (marked “directory”) instead.
Method
How the best black & grey tattoo shops are ranked
Every state list orders its black & grey tattoo shops by a Bayesian-adjusted Google rating: each shop's rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from thirty reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from six hundred. Ties go to the shop with more reviews. A shop qualifies when it lists black and grey tattooing among its styles and has at least 25 Google reviews; one listing per street address. Nobody paid for a place and nothing is hand-picked.
