Order is by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: each shop's Google rating is pulled toward the directory average in proportion to how few reviews back it, so a 5.0 from six reviews does not outrank a 4.9 from eight hundred. The stars shown are the raw Google rating and review count.

What locals say about Winston-Salem tattoo shops
Pulled from Google reviews of the top-rated shops in Winston-Salem.
“It's been over 20 years since my lobes had been pierced and I was wanting my doubles done. Lee took her time making sure the placement of the new ear lobe piercings was straight, even, and not going to impede on future piercing locations and my current lobes. A little pressure and done! No pain and my new heart earrings look amazing. Before leaving, Lee went over after care and even said it was safe for me to wear my dangles with my new piercing set. Highly recommend for those who are getting new piercing or wanting to add to their currents.”
“I’ve gotten 3 tats from Ryan McCarthy (@lilranch_tats) now and I couldn’t be happier. Ryan was very helpful in making my ideas come to life. Each time I’ve been there, he showed me the stencil he had made and was very open to the changes I mentioned. He even offered helpful ideas on the spacing with my other patchwork. And the other artists offered help with the stencil placement so it felt good to have multiple opinions. Good yap too. Felt more like a barbershop with the artists joking with each other and making the client feel included. Other shops I’ve been to either felt too quiet or just awkward. I also noticed the other artists working closely with clients on their designs. Everyone seems very skilled/professional. I’ll continue going back.”
