What Locals Say About Somerville Tattoo Shops

Myles Fredrick on Pearl Street Tattoo Club

I will 100% be coming back to this shop. My time here was an extremely positive and welcoming experience from start to finish. Arran was my artist, and he did an incredible job capturing the likeness and unique details for my memorial tattoo, while also adding his own creative flair and style. What stood out even more was the overall atmosphere—I got to talk with and watch several of the other artists, including Blaire and Sarah, and I would genuinely be excited to get tattooed by any of them. From the person who manned the front desk (I'm sorry I am blanking on their name) to Arran and every artist who came through the space, everyone contributed to such a safe, open, and positive environment. I’m so grateful for the time I spent here, and I’m already looking forward to many more tattoos at this shop!

I've been getting tattooed by Rueben (Horikei) for about 6-7 years. It's been a great pleasure to get to know him and see him take on the business and take it to the next level. Chameleon Tattoo is the only place I would ever recommend someone in New England to be tattooed. The cleanliness and sanitary standards of the shop are like nothing I've seen anywhere else. This is a shop that is staffed and owned by professionals who want to provide the absolute best product and service you can get. Also the shop has been tastefully designed and decorated, great job on the new location! Rueben is a trustworthy, professional and friendly artist/ shop owner. I have a full sleeve on my left arm and am about 45% finished with my right arm sleeve, the work is immaculate. I get about 2 compliments a week on my tattoos and absolutely love waking up everyday and seeing them on my arms. The colors have gotten better with age (yes that's possible) and the clarity of the work is perfect. If you want any kind of tattoo work done, please just go to Chameleon. If you want any kind of Japanese work done, please just go to Chameleon. Paul Yeti does awesome Japanese work too!

Anna Mercina Stefanou on Boston Tattoo Company - Somerville

Got my first tattoo here! I absolutely loved Hail, she was amazing! I am somebody who is afraid of needles but she made the entire profession so quick and easy for me. The tattoo room was super cute, made me feel super comfortable. She let me have my friend in the room for support, and Hail spoke to me the entire time to keep me distracted. Minimal pain, super easy process, highly recommend. Thank you Hail!!
