Absolutely love Esoteric Tattoo! Jiyun is incredibly talented, professional, and so easy to work with. Her attention to detail and skill are amazing. She’s tattooed our whole family, and every piece has turned out beautiful. Highly recommend her if you want quality work and a great experience!

Silas has tattooed me 3x - the first time when they were with another shop last year, the 2nd time at the Tattoo Expo with Esoteric in October 2023, and a 3rd time at Esoteric in March 2024. I’ve only experienced incredible interactions with Silas from the very beginning of the experience in coming up with the idea together (me providing the base idea and their incredible vision bringing it to life through color, details, and size), to adjusting the design and moving the stencil a million times to flow best with my body, to their technique and touch as they tattoo (they are extremely light and even super sensitive areas don’t sting as badly as I thought they would), to their combination of humor and professionalism throughout, and finally to their aftercare education and enthusiasm in receiving healed photos. The entire shop was super fun and supportive at the Tattoo Expo while I sat there for 5.5 hours with Silas, and were welcoming when I came to the shop for another tattoo with Silas a few months later. Silas was super happy to touch up my 1st tattoo for me as well, and was able to do it very quickly. I get approached in restaurants and shops pretty often from people wondering who did my tattoos, and Im always so happy to recommend Silas. Their work is beyond beautiful and magical and brings me euphoric feelings when I look at my body for the first time in my life. Two of my tattoos are also scar coverups, and they were able to work the scars in with the designs in a really amazing way. I’d recommend Silas to anyone. I’m already in discussions with them to design another.

Went to Esoteric Tattoo a total of nine times this year, accumulating a total of thirteen tattoos. I would have an appointment scheduled now if I was in the area. I've been to four different artists at four different shops, Esoteric included, hands down this was the best place for multiple reasons. Cleanliness, vibe, talent, ect. If you want amazing art from awesome people, this is the place you've been looking for. Everyone here is incredibly talented, with years of experience. I'm partial to Charlie, but you really can't go wrong with whoever you choose.

Best shop in Portland. Masters of their craft. Courteous, friendly, professional. Updating with more info. I’ve now had close to 75 hours under the gun with Dom, the owner. He has made my wackiest ideas become reality. I feel like a walking art museum. He and his staff are so great to work with, I cannot recommend them enough. Dom will go down as one of the greats in the craft, and I’m sure many of his staff will too. So much talent under one roof - it’s insane. Here are the pieces I’ve had done over the years. I’m in the middle of my next sleeve and am starting a chest piece with Dom after that.
