Spiritus Tattoo

My tattoo experience with the studio owner, Katharine Dearwester aka Musca, is honestly the worst I’ve ever had. Of the seven sessions we had together two were double booked, another had to be canceled by the artist, and on two separate occasions did Musca want to reschedule because she had more important things to do (like attending a music festival). Musca makes it quite clear that tattooing you is NOT her priority despite the $700+ daily rate. Additionally, Musca told me time and again that the reason my giant back and butt piece appeared crooked was because of issues with my anatomy. I was told my shoulders were uneven, my hips were uneven, and that Musca believed I had undiagnosed multiple sclerosis resulting in a spinal curvature. I have been seen by three doctors and received a physical, X-rays, and an MRI to learn that there is NOTHING wrong with my anatomy and my body most certainly is not crooked the way Musca would have me believe. I have since been seen by two tattoo artists who both agreed that half of my body the stencil was pushed upward while the other half of my body the stencil was pushed out, resulting in a very distorted and uneven tattoo. Not to mention the fact the bottom of the tattoo around my butt and hips was COMPLETELY changed when I was made to believe it would be merely be resized to fit me better — it is completely different from the agreed upon design. Maybe that’s on me but a normal person thinks they can trust their tattoo artist, I know I certainly did. I waited three years to get in with Musca, drove seven hours round trip for each session, and spent over $5k to be left with a crooked tattoo, a partial design I never picked out, the thought I was taken advantage of the entire time, and a whole lot of disappointment that I have no way of removing or covering up short of blacking out my entire back. 0/10, will warn people about this artist for the rest of my life!

I’ve been coming here for 4, almost 5 years, and i really cannot give this place or my artist musca enough praise. The shop is incredibly clean, warm, and inviting. The aesthetic and art work in the shop is so fun to look at it! I’m so thankful that i’ve found someone who does the most beautiful, unique work. I get compliments from many people who see any my tattoos! She’s also an incredible person. I always look forward to any future session because i know we’re going to have so much fun, and i'm going to get the sickest tattoos as well! Getting a tattoo from musca is like getting a tattoo from one of your dearest friends. There’s a reason i’ll never go to any other artist EVER, and I couldn’t recommend her enough!

BIG FAN! I had been wanting a tattoo from Quinn for a few years and finally made the move. The shop is clean and felt like a safe space in the heart of Clintonville. Quinn was a dream to work with and I can’t wait to collect another piece from her in the future. The rest of the team are also incredible humans; it felt nice to chat with the other artists with a sense of community. Will definitely be back soon. 5 stars for sure!

A really cute and clean shop filled with art and plants. Quin did the first of a set of tattoos I have planned with her and it came out so well. I've been following this shop and some of its artists on social media for a while now and they all do fantastic work. I'm really excited to have finally gotten a piece done here and I can't wait to go back for more

I've been here twice now, two appointments for a total of five tattoos. Both sessions have been awesome! I played canvas for Quin but every artist has amazing work and is super friendly. Great experience all around, really relaxed shop with a great atmosphere, amazing artists and I can't recommend them enough.
