Cry Baby Studios DC

Crybaby is a great studio, it is beautifully decorated, conveniently located, and the artists are welcoming and accommodating regardless of how many tattoos you have under your belt! This was my second piece with Irvin, and both experiences felt so collaborative. He took the time to alter the design to my vision, answered all my questions and was very careful with the placement. He was professional and communicative throughout the process. His line work and shading is solid and even the white highlights used in my first tattoo are holding up amazing months later! He also seemed excited to see the tattoo we did last session and brought a lot of the stylistic choices we made in that tattoo to the new one. I love how cohesive the two pieces he did are and feel that working with him has helped me solidify my personal style of tattoo.

Irvin is the best! He was kind, patient, and really takes an enormous amount of pride in his work. I love my tattoo so much! Honored to have had him work on my piece. Hoping to get some more work done by him! The studio is also so cute. Love the plants, stained glass, and cozy waiting room. Snacks and drinks provided! Everyone was super nice and made everything extremely comfy. Would 10/10 recommend for a comfortable, warm, and amazing experience.

I had a great experience with Simba in March. The booking and consultation process were really easy. I like the booking system they use, which provides you with reminders and makes everything super clear. The day of my tattoo, everything went super smoothly. Simba was ready with the drawing, and made some quick tweaks after we discussed it. She was great at communicating each step of the process, so I always knew what the next step was. The tattoo itself was surprisingly easy, she has a light touch. The studio itself is also great. It's a bright space with lots of foliage and cool decor. There were also snacks and water, if you forgot to bring your own. I would definitely go to Cry Baby Studios again, especially Simba. This was not my first tattoo, but I think this would be a great spot to get your first tattoo, if you're nervous or aren't already familiar with the usual process.

This was my second time coming to Cry Baby, both instances being for Friday the 13th events. My first time, I got a flash tattoo (my 13th tattoo) with Irvin. Fine line isn't my usual style, but he did a wonderful job and it healed great - still looks nice and crisp 9 months later! He was also super welcoming and took time to explain everything and check-in with me. Today, I decided to get my second lobe piercings with Cecy. She was friendly, professional, and informative. She took her time to ensure correct placement, and also created an environment in which I felt comfortable asking questions or could ask for a placement adjustment. I had been a bit concerned about getting my second lobes done because of where my first ones are and potential for it to look crowded, but placement was perfect and will give me options for what I can wear size-wise. Overall, I have had positive experiences here and absolutely recommend Cry Baby for both tattoos and piercings!

Parking was also super convenient. My artist, Irvin, was incredible. He was responsive, professional, and truly invested in bringing my idea to life. He came prepared with design ideas, took his time with sizing and placement, and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. The tattoo process was smooth and efficient, and Irvin made sure I was comfortable the entire time. He’s extremely talented, detail-oriented, and professional. Pricing was very reasonable, aftercare was clearly explained, and the final piece exceeded my expectations. I’m absolutely in love with my tattoo and will definitely be back.
