@kwon_tattoos ( Eugene) is so talented and gentle . I had a vision he said let me work this up and give you some ideas . It was a mother daughter - tattoo and he exceeded my expectations. But more than anything, it was painless I didn’t know that could be possible . I will definitely do back and know you are in good hands if you go as well .
@kwon_tattoos is the best. I’ve been getting tattoos from him for 3 years now and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. The work he’s done has been remarkable and held up extremely well. I get compliments on them all the time when I’m out. The shop is also extremely clean and professional. Will definitely be coming back for more years to come.
Good luck trying to get a tattoo if you aren't friends with someone who works here. It is unfortunate, as the individual artists here are kind and talented, but the staff are not welcoming or polite to you if they don't recognize you / know you. I have been to 3 events here, only gotten tattooed twice. most recently I came to a first come first serve flash event, I gave the woman my name and number and was told there were only 2 folks ahead of me for the artist. 2 hours go by and I check in, I'm told there is one person ahead of me. Another 2 hours go by, and I check in again about my place in the line. After 4 hours of waiting, I am told again that there is one person ahead of me. I asked for clarification on if that meant that the artist was working on the person ahead of me and I was next, or if it was the person he was working on, then someone else, then me. She scoffed and said "That's your artist right there, you can see he is literally tattooing someone right now." I clarified my question again, and her response was "There is one person ahead of you. It's this person, the next person, and then you. Are you in a time crunch or something?" I had been waiting over 4 hours just to essentially be told that the artist was still working on the first person he took and I was being unreasonable. After the way I was spoken to and having waited so long already I decided to take my name off the list. I walked back up to the desk, and after a few moments the woman looked up from her phone, leaned to her right, looked past me to the man waiting behind me and said "I can help you sir, what do you need?" Ironically, he also wanted to take his name off the list, and she was just as unkind to him and his girlfriend as she had been to me. When she finally bothered to look at me and I let her know she could scratch my name too. The other times I have come here have been similar, once I was actually first in line for a first come first serve event, and then was told I had to wait because the artist was already tattooing someone else, and when I asked about it I was completely brushed off. I ended up waiting for over an hour. I can only imagine that the people getting these tattoos are friends of the people who work there, because I see them hugging and speaking with the staff and artists before being taken back to the stations. I understand tattoos take time, and I'm not expecting the artists to tattoo people in under an hour. But the staff are not transparent about time, do not appreciate you asking questions, and will tell you to stay near by because they will only call you once before giving up your spot. They don't want you to sit in the lobby, and while there are restaurants near by, they will not just let you sit in there without buying anything. So many people sit on the sidewalk outside for hours on end because they are nervous about losing their spot. I hesitated to post this, because for a while I thought that it was my fault and I was just being impatient. But after experiencing the same / similar things 3 separate times, I felt it was important to share for people considering coming here for events / walk ins.
I visited UNDRGRND whilst on holiday in SF. Nayelli was so patient and supportive with me (I am not very good with needles, and this was only my second tattoo!). I loved the studio, and it made me feel very cared for. Lots of art to look at on the walls and a very comfortable, chill vibe.
What an amazing experience at Undrgrnd!! I love my beautiful pet portrait by the talented Tanya Wischerath. Ample Street parking with a 4hr maximum on Mission. Supper clean and professional location. Will definitely be back!
