1001 Troubles Tattoo

Maddie brought my idea to life and recreated a gorgeous sunflower with watercolor effects. Can't wait to get my next one with her! And the shop itself is so cool, everywhere you look is art and skulls and jokes and all kinds of surprises in between, including super nice and supportive staff.

Finally got a tattoo that I’ve been thinking about for 15 years. Timing was right. India was SO GOOD to work with. Incredibly collaborative, patient and responsive. We went through a couple of iterations and she nailed it. And you can see from the finished product, she is wonderfully talented. In part, it’s an homage to my swimming. While I was in cancer treatment, one of the things that kept me going was wanting to get back in the water. On the one hand, the water grounds (interesting choice of words, I know) me and brings a feeling of familiarity and peace. On the other hand, it provides a place where I can push myself, compete, and feel alive. The trident moving upward through the water represents this and me fighting through cancer with the help of family and friends. If you look real close, you might be able to see a large “T” and “C” representing Tyler and Casey (my kids). I count my blessings every day. I know I’m one of the lucky ones. Some people might say it’s my midlife crisis. That’s true if I plan on living to be 130. Would be more apt to call it my Medicare eligible crisis. Never too old to get tatted and be a bad boy. Already thinking about where I’m going to put my next one. Thank you, India, for sharing your talent with me and making this all possible. Grateful. Vince

I absolutely LOVE this tattoo shop! My tattoo artist Jess Spousta is incredible! I can’t make a decision about anything, and I told her what I wanted … she asked for some reference photos and I was shocked when I saw what she drew up … it was exactly what I wanted! She also has some of the cleanest line work I have ever seen on a tattoo! Can’t wait to go back for color!

Jess was awesome. I gave her an idea and she ran with it knocking it out of the park.

Went to 1001 Troubles for a touch up on a beautiful piece (my 1st & very meaningful) Michelle C. created for me in March. Everyone is professional and the shop is bright, clean, attractive, and comfortable. Michelle is an amazing artist and I highly recommend!

What a great experience ! Booking was easy, the staff were super friendly and accommodating/welcoming, the space is both cool and super chill in terms of vibe. My artist Maddie, blew my mind with her design - based on a verbal conversation and one piece of reference material she surpassed every expectation with her design, and the execution is amazing. The other artists were warm, friendly, and engaging - wicked cool environment all around, and i am so stoked with the piece I got, i keep looking at it and love it ! I will definitely be coming back for more work. Kudos to the entire establishment, you all run a fantastic business. Updated 9-7-2025: True to word, I have returned to 1001 Troubles for an additional medium sized piece, and a Large piece. I also have several more pieces planned. The environment is really warm and welcoming : the owners happened to be in the shop when i was getting yesterday's work done, and both took the time to compliment the piece I was getting. Front desk staff were friendly and awesome! My artist, Maddie, is incredible and took some high level concepts for a very important piece and made something that captured exactly the essence of what i had in mind. Not only is the design amazing, but she took a ton of care to make it symmetrical with its sister piece, and aligned, which meant a lot to me that it was important to get it perfect. If you're reading this, you should book with her!! This is a great place to get a tattoo, with a cohort of artists that are incredibly talented, but its also a space where i genuinely just look forward to hang out in and be surrounded with creative, fun, warm people while getting work done - and i'll be getting a lot more done!

My partner and I recently went in for matching tattoos and we both had an excellent experience. Our tattoo artist Maddie did an incredible job designing what we were looking for, and her ink work on our tattoos was fantastic. She was patient and attentive to our needs during tattooing to make sure we were comfortable. Her work is beautiful and she made sure that we had what we needed and knew what to do for aftercare. I was extremely impressed at how clean, spacious, and welcoming the entire studio was. We also got to meet another artist, Syd, who was friendly and helpful in giving us her opinions and talking about her own ink. Before we left we met the shop owner, Michelle, who was also incredibly cool and welcoming. This is 100% a shop I will return to again for more ink. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Maddie did a great job at fitting us in on a short timeline. She's a super talented artist at 1001 and I highly recommend Syd and Michelle too!

Sarah was my artist and she was amazing! Really cool vibe and she made sure I got what I wanted and more! Definitely will see her again!
