Recently got my first tattoo here! Got a nice big oak tree on my left thigh. For a first tattoo I was looking for somewhere I knew I could trust. The overall atmosphere of The Black Flamingo is extremely welcoming. Super chill artists and staff, as well as a clean yet artistic aesthetic. Not only did my artist Yugen do a great job on the tattoo, he was an incredibly kind and easy to talk to. Since I wanted a very personalized tattoo, Yugen worked super well with me to produce what I wanted to get. Overall this was the best first tattoo and first tattoo experience I could have asked for. I 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to get their first tattoo or just anyone looking for a welcoming, hassle-free tattoo experience. Once again shout out to Yugen for doing an incredible job I really appreciate it!

Great experience getting a tattoo here! Yugen was my artist and he was very professional and made the entire process incredibly easy. Prices were very reasonable and communication pre-appointment was excellent. Will definitely be coming back for more tattoos in the future!

Yesterday I had a session here with Tamar. She is incredible. I found her work on IG, and immediately fell in love with her unique art style. I connected with one of the flash designs she had recently advertised, and put in a booking request with the idea to place it on my calf. She got back to me promptly with great and clear communication. She expanded the flash design to fit the calf placement, making additions and small alterations to fit the flow of my body. She checked in every step of the way, making sure I liked what she was doing. I loved it! She is so focused while tattooing, you can tell she cares deeply about the work. I will absolutely be returning to Tamar for more work in the future. I’ve already thrown some ideas her way! The shop is super clean and comfortable. I had a window view of the trees blooming in downtown Bethesda. There are a lot of great artists here genuinely care about each other’s work - several checked in during my session, watching Tamar do her thing. Even if you don’t connect with Tamar’s work, there is definitely someone here for you, and you’ll have a great experience. Note: that little bruise on my calf was there before the session!

Went for my first tattoo with Crush at the Black Flamingo Collective. The space was open, larger than expected, and comfortable. The artists were conversational among themselves and clients lending to a warm atmosphere. The process was explained, and proceeded for an all day session. I was comfortable for the entirety of my session, given easy instructions for aftercare, given products for aftercare, and scheduled for the next session. I eagerly await my next visit.

Manny is a great guy, definitely recommend getting your ink with him!
