I’m very sad about this entire situation… I was really excited to get my cheeks pierced and decided to visit this parlor during a recent four-day trip to Memphis because of the many positive reviews. I was originally scheduled to see a specific piercer, but she was busy and asked a gentleman to perform the procedure instead. After setting up, he marked my face and prepared to pierce. When I asked if I could use mouthwash, he casually replied “before or after,” which immediately raised concerns. He also did not disinfect my face despite the fact that I was wearing makeup. Unfortunately, the jewelry he selected was both the wrong gauge and too short. My cheeks began to swell and swallow the bar almost immediately, and when I asked whether the bars were long enough to accommodate swelling, he repeatedly assured me they were. By the next morning, the ball inside my mouth had been completely engulfed by my cheek. I returned to the shop to have a longer bar inserted. BB, the piercer I had initially booked, re-pierced my cheeks using the correct gauge. However, due to the significant swelling, the piercing could not be perfectly aligned, and it ultimately came out uneven. I ended up removing the right side entirely. BB was extremely kind and professional, and I truly wish she had performed my initial piercing. I believe the swelling made it difficult for her to correct the placement. The front desk staff were also very pleasant. Because of their courtesy and BB’s skill, I feel the fairest rating is two stars. Unfortunately, the initial procedure and lack of proper sanitation made this a very upsetting experience overall.

I’ve been getting inked for over 30 years and currently working on getting my entire back done. I recently relocated to north Mississippi and spent several months researching and talking with different artists in the region seeking a skilled Japanese Artist. I stumbled across Ink Therapy and talked with Claus. We had a good vibe with each other and he had all the knowledge of this style of ink. He literally was the first artist I came across that is really into Japanese Tattoos. He knows the style, the mythology, the imagery placement and the color palette. He pulls clean, fine straight lines and can pack in solid saturated colors and fine detail. Not only that… I sat for 7 hrs and could have probably sat for 10. In all my years of being inked I have never had an artist with such a lite gentle steady hand. Majority of the time I didn’t feel like I was being tattooed. I literally could have taken a nap it was so pleasant. I highly recommend getting work done by him especially if you are planning on getting a sensitive area done like ribs, neck, traps, inner arm etc.
