The attention to detail, color saturation, and line work are consistently top tier. He truly understands the foundation of traditional tattooing and brings that history to life in a fresh, authentic way. What’s also impressive is his range. While American Traditional is clearly his specialty, he can also execute fine line work and custom pieces. Whether you’re going for something classic or something more detailed, Shon delivers. His flash designs alone are enough to get you in the chair.. also, the vibe at Breakthrough Tattoo is super chill just good energy and seriously talented artists. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. 20/10

Found Josh while in Charleston on vacation and got a full day of tattoos. Was so happy with my experience that I ended up going back to Charleston, only to get tattooed, countless times. Have probably gone down about 7 or 8 times now and I leave happy every single time. Josh is an awesome artist and dude, more than anything it’s really relieving to work with an artist that is easy to deal with.
