I got two ear piercings redone about a week ago. The whole experience was incredibly unsettling and uncomfortable. I received really hostile and unwarranted side-eye and them looking me up and down from the staff for some reason. After the first piercing, I was told the hole probably had not completed closed as it was wasn't difficult to pierce. So I asked her to check to see if the second piercing had closed completely. She pushed the piercing in, and after I leaned away and verbally indicated for her to stop, she did not cease and desist and kept pushing. After checking the piercings, they didnt even give me the correct size of piercing I requested at the front desk. They have poor bedside manners and also, addressing your customer as "love" at the end of every sentence doesn't make your passive aggressive behavior any less hostile. I will not be coming back. This was unnecessarily uncomfortable and painful and I should've chosen a shop with better consideration for their clientele in retrospect.
Got my both of my seconds pierced here on August 6th. Everyone was super kind. Piercing was super quick. I mentioned that I don’t like being told when the needle is “going in” and that was respected. I will 100% be going here for more piercings and hopefully some tattoos.
Edit: Changed my review from 2 stars to 1 star because of the owners response. Make sure you go in there and fight with what the counter person tells you in case they're wrong, according to the owner. Directly messaged this shop to ask about getting my 6 almost 7 year old sons ears pierced. They answered and said 6-7 years old was fine and that they would be asking him if he wanted them to make sure i wasnt pressuring him, which I loved. A month later I bring him in to get them done and the lady at the counter says he has to be 8 even though I had previously asked and they had said 7 was fine. They didn't seem to care that I had already talked to someone, so my 7 year old had to walk out a little upset. Seems like the people in this shop are not on the same page.
Amy was my piercing goddess. Her bubbly uplifting spirit made everything go smoothly. I got an ear piercing in the middle of my cartilage & both nipples pierced. Aside from the initial sharp intake of breath that I took as Amy pierced my CHESTICLES... There was very little pain and the ear piercing was like a whisper. I got pierced in June and I healed up quite well no problems whatsoever. I did ponder the more personal piercing I got for a couple decades, so I may get more we will see. Thank you so much I would definitely recommend UNDER YOUR SKIN to anybody that would like your services. ®
Do not let Jada touch your face!!! I came in simply to change jewelry out because my normal shop didn’t have the correct size. I came in without any bumps but warned her that I struggled with them beforehand. The first hoop Jada put in my nose was giant and recommended a smaller size and I agreed, she was rough with my nose and it was a painful insertion and she after was wiping up my blood- from a jewelry change that I PAID for. She told me I wouldn’t get a bump again but it came back fast and bigger than ever. I went to see the manager where she told me to get supplies and I paid $50 to take care of the bump that ultimately didn’t work. I had to go to the dermatologist to get it drained and have injections to go down, plus take out the jewelry that I spent so much time and effort healing. I was going to let this all go because the bump is down now and the manager tried the best she could to help but I’m stuck looking at a scar on my face everyday. I seriously wonder if Jada has any experience or qualifications to be working, just a warning to all!
Terrible service !!! I wanted a belly button piercing. I had an appointment in May and 3 weeks later it just fell out . Well a friend of mine looked at it and, advised me it wasn’t even placed correctly . It was higher than it should have been .. It was very red and painful to touch , being a nurse I know what an infection looks like . Called to notify them . They didn’t seem to care too much or want to help out . Left several messages and no return call. Finally got a hold of a rude owner RON who was very rude and very unprofessional ! He told me they could not give me my money back, but they could re due it . After seeing and reading some other reviews , I decided I better go to a place that cares about there work and talks to there clients like they care . Not this place . VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and just not nice people !!!
Got an industrial bar back in April. I asked the piercer if I have the right anatomy and she said yes. Ever since, everyone who has ever looked at it tells me it’s pierced wrong. Over this last weekend, I went to a couple of different piercing shops and asked if it is in fact pierced wrong. Every single one said that it is. The bottom part of the bar is pierced through skin and not cartilage, which only in a matter of time, will force its way out of my ear. It’s best to take it out. It’s really upsetting that a piercer doesn’t know that industrial bars go through cartilage, either that or will just do the piercing regardless of safety to take some money. One of piercers I talked to over this last weekend said that the mistake was going to Under Your Skin and that he says a lot of people from there to fix their piercings. Really unfortunate, don’t go here if you want your piercing done correctly.
