Dear You Tattoo

I had my first tattoo done by Justin (iamjuco) and couldn’t be happier with the experience! I went in for a trash polka piece on my forearm, and from start to finish the communication was clear, professional, and reassuring, and exactly what I needed for my first tattoo. The quality of the work is incredible; the detail and flow of the design are even better than I imagined, and I have already scheduled my next tattoo!!! Dear You is spotless and welcoming, and every artist I met there was genuinely friendly and approachable. If you’re looking for bold, high-quality work with an artist who listens and delivers, Justin is the real deal.

For my first tattoo experience, Justin (@iamjuco) blew my expectations out of the water! He was so considerate and patient with me, from the design process to the actual tattoo itself. I gave him some seemingly random ideas and asked him to just have fun from there, do his thing (it’s the meteor from FFVII if you happen to wonder). He checked in frequently as we got going, starting on my upper arm and ending at the wrist to ensure I was comfortable. Mileage may vary, but for me it was dang near a painless experience, even relaxing. It’s healing well 5 days out, aftercare instructions were straightforward and reliable. The entire team at Dear You was enthusiastic and neat in general. Amidst a bajillion artists in KC, this is one to keep an eye on.

Decided to go to Dear You Tattoo for my very first tattoo after doing some research. My artist was Rhona and she was amazing. I absolutely love my tattoo!

Had a great experience and loved the shop vibes. Traccy did a good job figuring out what I wanted and my design turned out perfectly. I also had an opportunity to work with Gina and it wasn’t the most pleasant experience, she “informed” me of what she had come up with and what she was “willing” to do and was kind of abrasive about it. Justin is great and accommodating if you’re looking for watercolor of any type. Amber the shop manager is very professional and puts the client first. Teddy at the front desk is somewhat rude and not very friendly when you call, but Maria is the real gem of the shop and is warm and welcoming and makes the whole experience worth it. Although with my last visit I didn’t end up with a piece that I am happy with it’s still a great place to go if you get the right artist for what you are looking for.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Justin. I first met him and saw his style at a tattoo convention. We then communicated via phone to discuss that tattoo i wanted. I gave him a general idea of what i wanted to memorialize my cats and let him run with the idea. What he gave me was an absolutely gorgeous and hilariously accurate tattoo of my 2 boys, Phineas and Ferb. I am so happy I trusted the process and traveled 2 hours to get the tattoo done. In general, Justin is one of the kindest humans and genuinely cared about my comfort level throughout the 6 hours. He is also light-handed which makes a big difference when you’re sitting in the chair for a long time. I will definitely travel to get tattooed by him again.

Gina was INCREDIBLE!! She perfectly executed my vision of a bookstore cat from a children’s book. Gina was friendly, professional, and truly cared about getting the tattoo right. I can’t wait to book another!

I could not be more happy! My tattoo is beautiful and Mae and Maria are some of the kindest people I have ever met! I live over 6 hours away and will come back for more work! Thanks and love to everyone at this shop!

Probably the best tattoo shop in the metro area, I would recommend everyone go here. Everyone is so nice and fun and talented and the shop is so inviting. I miss them now that I'm in Brooklyn.

I can't even begin to express how much I am a customer for life now at Dear You Tattoo. The shop, team and atmosphere are so welcoming! Justin helped me create a piece that represented my birthplace and took it to the next level. It's even better than I could have imagined. Oh and it's so true about them being addictive, because I've already been back for another design; this time to do one of Justin's "wanna do" designs of birb/owl skull with hints of pink graffiti! Justin is an incredibly talented artist with an eye for making a piece spectacular! I can't wait to continue working on some of the other ideas I have stewing in my head!
