Iron Lotus / Cedar Rapids / Iowa City Tattoo

Went in to ask about walk ins and the first lady to greet us was great energy and super sweet exactly what you would expect/want from a tattoo parlor! But when the second lady came up and asked about our tattoos the lady who talked to us didnt listen to what i personally wanted and told me there was too much for my tattoo and i needed an appointment- (i only wanted lineart and flat color) and when it came to a backup i wanted something the size of my palm and she told me i needed to go bigger… i didnt want to go bigger- her tone was flat and kinda extremely rude when telling us about what would happen if i got tatted with numbing cream saying “if your tattoo heals like shit thats on you”. Im aware of possible adverse reactions to some numbing creams and I don't appreciate the way she came off and i don’t feel comfortable being tattooed here due to that negative energy.

I just had the pleasure of meeting Gish. She was the most knowledgeable piercer / tattoo artist I had ever met. Thank you Gish. She taught me and explained a lot to me in depth and the vibe was genuine and she made me feel at home.

My husband and I have been coming to iron lotus for years! Everyone is phenomenal! I’ve been tattooed by Jeremiah, Kristin and Trent, gotten to know them so well during our long sessions. I’ve lived around the world, but they’re unmatched. They’re great people, always make sure you’re comfortable, they’re clean/sanitary, and really just have extensive talent. I’ve never felt like they’ve been unfair in their pricing-but remember, you pay for the quality! Their work has held up great over the years. I always get compliments on my sleeves and wedding band tattoo especially. They certainly know how to saturate color!

Kristen is one of the best tatto artists I’ve ever had! She took my ideas and what I wanted and made a masterpiece 🥹

For anyone that sits hours while getting tattoos, it is a MUST to have an environment that you enjoy and want to come back to. Iron Lotus has accomplished this to a T. The artists and clients had always been joyful to converse with and make the time fly by. Their monthly flash sheets are a fun bucket list item, the custom designs are thought through and executed, and throwing in a piercing every once in a while is always fun. Shout out to my cat lady, Morgan!

Iron lotus is the tattoo shop I keep coming back to! Morgan H does a wonderful job and I’ve gone to her multiple times. One time I ended up not feeling good when getting work done and starting being sick and passing out. Morgan and the team were quick to respond to my health concerns, helped me come out of it and quickly aided me with a sugar tablet. Proceeded to help me then after some time asked if I wanted to continue or not. I’ve had worst experiences getting my blood drawn at the dr office and feeling faint, Iron Lotus team did a wonderful job! Not to mention I’ve been happy with every tattoo I’ve gotten so far.

My husband and I both have multiple tattoos from IL and couldn't be happier with how they turned out and are holding color! We had Lobsters done May of 2024 and i just had someone ask me the other day if it was fresh because it is so bright! Feeling the itch for some new ink... Iron Lotus is the place to go!!
