Forever Gallery Tattoo

I browsed several tattoo shops in Carmel before making the best decision of my life and going with Grace Enstrom at Forever Gallery. I could never thank Grace enough for the beautiful masterpiece she created on my skin. When I first walked in Forever Gallery, Grace was the artist who came to talk with me initially about the piece I wanted. I did not look at any of Grace’s past tattoos. I did not know how long Grace had been tattooing. I just showed Grace a photo of what I wanted and asked her, “Can you make me something exactly like this?” Without hesitation, Grace confidently responded, “Yes I can do that.” She did not know, but she was the first tattoo artist to confidently assure me that she could do a tattoo exactly like the photo I showed her. I had gone to many artists before her who had responded with things like, “Well I can make something similar, but it won’t be exactly like that.” And with that, my life was changed forever. I knew that I had found my artist. Grace did recommend looking at all the artists’ work to see what style I liked best. However, there was no need. I knew Grace was the one. This piece was very large, so I was a little nervous about getting it. Grace has a digital program that allows you to see the outline of the tattoo on your skin before she starts tattooing. Once she sent me the outline, I was completely in love. All my nervous feelings vanished. It looked so beautiful. And Grace brought that outline to life in an extraordinary way that I never could have imagined. To say Grace is talented is an understatement. She is an amazing tattoo artist. She is also unbelievably humble and kind, which makes her even more powerful as an artist. I cannot say enough good things about her. Trust me, you will not be disappointed about getting a tattoo with Grace. She is a true gem with remarkable talent. The entire piece took 3 sessions (5 hour, 4 hour, and 3 hour). I needed several shorter sessions because I’m very weak and can’t tolerate the pain well. For the last session, I ended up buying some tattoo numbing cream and applying that before the session. It made a world of difference. I highly recommend it. Forever Gallery is in Carmel located next to the infamous Graeter’s ice cream (as if that’s not a good enough sign for you to get a tattoo here). There are 6 artists (3 women and 3 men). All the artists do both black and color tattoos. The environment in this shop is very warm and inviting. I definitely recommend Forever Gallery if you are looking for high quality tattoos!

My review is solely based on Michael Hockman and no one else at the shop. I placed a deposit as well as paid for a gift certificate to the shop and booked with Michael for a coverup. Michael cancelled the appointment three time, twice the day of and the last time the day before. We had a very candid conversation after the second cancellation that it could not happen again do to me taking off work, but he still cancelled the third time. He told me he would provide a refund and after over a week still has not done so. Do not send any money to Michael or book with him if you want professionalism or to actually be tattooed. For reference, Michael agreed to pay these funds April 2, and as of August 19 no money has been returned. I did briefly consider working with Michael after the three cancellations, but after reading other reviews and experiences decided not to as it is not the first time he has done this and he has left people with half finished tattoos. A review was also left on Facebook by myself. After this, Michael blocked me from the shops page and sent another email blaming me for his shortcomings. No solution has been offered and he once again said he would get back to me. Matt, the co-owner, is wonderful. After everything was settled in court we had a great conversation about everything and I would work with him.

This was my first tattoo experience and it was great! Hudson did a fantastic job. He's great to work with, gave great ideas and suggestions that would make your tattoo better. Would go back for more work in the future.

Jessica did such an amazing job on my tattoo cover up. I had a tattoo on my bicep I was very insecure about and she turned it into a beautiful floral piece. The time went by quickly with her positive and calm energy.

Grace Enstrom at Forever Gallery Tattoo demonstrates a level of mastery, passion, and service we should all hope to one day emulate. Each piece, from the full sleeves she creates to the flash pieces doodled on her wall in her booth, radiates with the energy, skill, time, and love she puts into her work. Hudson was amazing, and gave me and my dad incredible tattoos (mine is pictured!). He had such a delicate hand and we loved hanging out and chatting with him. We will 1000% be coming back to see him, and i would recommend him to anyone wanting a tattoo!!
