“After 4 visits to Tattoo Forever and a failed cover-up appointment with the owner at Defiance Tattoo, I can honestly say this was one of the most unprofessional tattoo experiences I’ve ever had.” Review of Tattoo Forever & Defiance Tattoo (Fort Walton Beach, FL) I would not recommend Tattoo Forever or Defiance Tattoo based on my direct experiences. Both visits left me disappointed, and because the same owner also operates Tattoo Zoo, I personally would not go there either—due to the overall lack of professionalism and the way situations were handled at his other shops. In January, my husband and I got matching tattoos at Tattoo Forever. Mine was done by Aaron, a newer artist (about 1.5 years of experience), and I was unhappy with the result. This was actually my 4th time at Tattoo Forever, so I came in as a loyal, returning customer and expected to be treated as such. Instead, it took a lengthy amount of time for the shop to even attempt to resolve the situation, and weeks before I was finally placed into contact with the owner, Pat (“Impala Pat” on Instagram). My appointment with Pat at Defiance Tattoo—my first time at that shop—was not scheduled until March. When I finally showed up for the arranged appointment, he was late, and I spent about 1.5–2 hours there only to realize he had no intention of following through. Instead of doing the tattoo as he had promised, he ultimately placed the blame back on me. At first glance, he said adding a missing letter would “fix” things—even though I had already explained I was unhappy with the entire piece. When I pointed out that the stencil he placed was crooked, he became defensive and, instead of troubleshooting solutions like he should have, spent more time trying to convince me to go to another artist. He even told me to “try them first” and then come back to him if it didn’t work, which made it obvious he never intended to do the cover-up. After I left, he went further by trying to blame me for why the tattoo wasn’t what I wanted—on top of all the manipulation and dismissive behavior I had already experienced. What frustrated me most was how I was treated by both shops. Tattoo Forever dragged out the process instead of resolving things quickly, and Pat, the owner, showed zero accountability when I finally met with him. As a returning customer, I was not valued or respected. And as a military spouse, I found his behavior especially disappointing—considering how strongly he markets himself as a veteran and “supporter of the military community.” His actions didn’t match his words. Between the lack of accountability, the delay in resolution, and the terrible customer service, this was one of the most unprofessional tattoo experiences I’ve ever had. I left not only disappointed, but disgusted. This review is long past due, but after all the mental exhaustion from dealing with this process, I’m only just now getting around to it. Ultimately, I’m writing it because I’m still bothered by how everything was handled and knew I needed to put it out publicly. I cannot recommend Tattoo Forever, Defiance Tattoo, or any other shop connected to this owner.

First tattoo ever..for me! Fun place, we went on the last day of our trip. There were 3 artists in that day so we didn't have much of a wait. Might make it a beach vacay tradition. 🏖

We go to Destin every year and decided this year to get tattooed. I found Travis online and he had great reviews. He was awesome to work with and was very friendly. This is by far the best tattoo shop I’ve been to. Everyone was extremely friendly and the shop was super clean. Two of my other friends got small lettering tattoos and their tattoo artists were kind as well. A lot of times tattoo artists will roll their eyes or be arrogant/annoyed towards small tattoos. These guys were awesome and had no issues working with us. I’ve never seen that before. We will be going back next year for more ink. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Stopped in on vacation with my friend and got 2 tattoos by Aaron. He did great work for a great price and was funny. Will be stopping by again next vacation.

As always it was great. I have been coming here every year for about 5 years now. I always get my tattoos here when I'm in town. Great service, and good prices also. People are friendly and remember us every year. Will be back for sure next year to do it again.

Got my toungue and nips done by structure and it was the easiest piercings i’ve done. super quick and super nice and knowledgeable. definitely recommend
