--- type: state_ranking name: "The 10 best tattoo shops in Iowa" state: "Iowa" abbr: "IA" shops: 10 eligible: 23 url: https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/best-tattoo-shops/ --- # The 10 best tattoo shops in Iowa 23 shops in Iowa carry at least 25 Google reviews and qualify; these are the top 10. ## How this is ranked Shops are ordered by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: (n × rating + 320 × 4.79) ÷ (n + 320), where n is the shop's Google review count, 320 is the median review count across the directory and 4.79 is the directory-wide mean rating. Only shops with at least 25 reviews qualify; ties go to the shop with more reviews. Ordering is computed at build time from two facts per shop — its Google rating and its Google review count. One listing per street address, and nobody paid for a position. ## The ranking | # | Shop | City | Rating | Reviews | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 1 | [The Crow's Nest](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/dubuque/the-crow-s-nest.md) | Dubuque | 5.0 | 1,800 | | 2 | [Wellington Tattoo Co.](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/cedar-rapids/wellington-tattoo-co.md) | Cedar Rapids | 5.0 | 470 | | 3 | [TDF Tattoo and Body Piercing](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/sioux-city/tdf-tattoo-and-body-piercing.md) | Sioux City | 4.9 | 262 | | 4 | [Platinum Rose Tattoo Studio & Gallery](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/cedar-rapids/platinum-rose-tattoo-studio-gallery.md) | Cedar Rapids | 4.9 | 241 | | 5 | [Studio 65 Tattoos](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/clear-lake/studio-65-tattoos.md) | Clear Lake | 4.9 | 223 | | 6 | [Neon Dragon Tattoo & Art Collective](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/marion/neon-dragon-tattoo-art-collective.md) | Marion | 4.8 | 518 | | 7 | [Heroic Ink Tattoo & Piercing](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/ames/heroic-ink-tattoo-piercing.md) | Ames | 4.8 | 456 | | 8 | [Iron Lotus / Cedar Rapids / Iowa City Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/cedar-rapids/iron-lotus-cedar-rapids-iowa-city-tattoo.md) | Cedar Rapids | 4.8 | 422 | | 9 | [Maya Modification](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/sioux-city/maya-modification.md) | Sioux City | 4.8 | 273 | | 10 | [Lefty's Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/iowa/cedar-rapids/lefty-s-tattoo.md) | Cedar Rapids | 4.8 | 268 | ### 1.
