--- type: best_category_state name: "Best realism tattoo shops in Minnesota" category: "realism" state: "Minnesota" abbr: "MN" shops: 13 url: https://www.localtattoos.com/best/realism/minnesota/ --- # Best realism tattoo shops in Minnesota 13 shops in Minnesota that reviewers mention for realism and portrait work, each with at least 25 Google reviews. ## How this is ranked Shops are ordered by a Bayesian-adjusted rating: (n × rating + 320 × 4.79) ÷ (n + 320), where n is the shop's Google review count, 320 is the median review count across the directory and 4.79 is the directory-wide mean rating. Only shops with at least 25 reviews qualify; ties go to the shop with more reviews. Ordering is computed at build time from two facts per shop — its Google rating and its Google review count. One listing per street address, and nobody paid for a position. ## Ranked shops | # | Shop | City | Rating | Reviews | Reviewers mention | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | 1 | [RocketUp Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/st-cloud/rocketup-tattoo.md) | St Cloud | 5.0 | 392 | American Traditional, Realism / Portrait, Custom Tattoo Designs | | 2 | [Gothic Knight Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/minneapolis/gothic-knight-tattoo.md) | Minneapolis | 4.9 | 64 | American Traditional, Fine Line, Black & Grey | | 3 | [Ocean Blue Tattoo & Art Studio](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/bloomington/ocean-blue-tattoo-art-studio.md) | Bloomington | 4.8 | 360 | Geometric / Mandala, Realism / Portrait, Aftercare Products | | 4 | [BlackEnd Tattoo Atelier](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/minneapolis/blackend-tattoo-atelier.md) | Minneapolis | 4.8 | 234 | Script / Lettering, Black & Grey, Realism / Portrait | | 5 | [Time Bomb Ink](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/blaine/time-bomb-ink.md) | Blaine | 4.8 | 232 | Fine Line, Black & Grey, Realism / Portrait | | 6 | [Northeast Tattoo & Fadeaway Laser Tattoo Removal](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/minneapolis/northeast-tattoo-fadeaway-laser-tattoo-removal.md) | Minneapolis | 4.8 | 205 | American Traditional, Geometric / Mandala, Realism / Portrait | | 7 | [Neighborhood Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/minneapolis/neighborhood-tattoo.md) | Minneapolis | 4.8 | 68 | Realism / Portrait, Piercing Services, Custom Tattoo Designs | | 8 | [Cactus Tattoo & Body Piercing](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/mankato/cactus-tattoo-body-piercing.md) | Mankato | 4.7 | 348 | Realism / Portrait, Piercing Services, Custom Tattoo Designs | | 9 | [The Ink Lab](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/minneapolis/the-ink-lab.md) | Minneapolis | 4.6 | 117 | Black & Grey, Realism / Portrait, Aftercare Products | | 10 | [Black Coffin Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/st-paul/black-coffin-tattoo.md) | St Paul | 4.7 | 538 | Minimalist / Micro, American Traditional, Script / Lettering | | 11 | [A Plus Tattoo & Body Piercing](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/hastings/a-plus-tattoo-body-piercing.md) | Hastings | 4.6 | 212 | American Traditional, Black & Grey, Realism / Portrait | | 12 | [Dinkytown Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/minneapolis/dinkytown-tattoo.md) | Minneapolis | 4.6 | 216 | American Traditional, Black & Grey, Realism / Portrait | | 13 | [Mecca Tattoo](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/mankato/mecca-tattoo.md) | Mankato | 4.6 | 251 | American Traditional, Japanese / Irezumi, Geometric / Mandala | ## Related - [Realism tattoo shops by state](https://www.localtattoos.com/best/realism.md) - [Tattoo shops in Minnesota](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota.md) - [The best tattoo shops in Minnesota](https://www.localtattoos.com/minnesota/best-tattoo-shops.md) --- *Source: [LocalTattoos.com](https://www.localtattoos.com/best/realism/minnesota/).
